Mrs. June's Pound Cake

This warm, buttery cake is especially wonderful right out of the oven!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 3 cups sugar 1 cup at a time
  • 5 eggs add one at a time
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp almond flavoring

Instructions
 

  • Blend softened butter with Crisco until smooth with mixer.
  • Add sugar, one cup at a time.
  • Add eggs one at a time.
  • Mix cake flour and baking powder. Alternate adding the flour/powder with the milk.
  • Do not over beat after adding the flour and milk. Add flavorings.
  • Bake at 325 degrees 1 hour and 20 minutes.
