Mrs. June's Pound Cake
This warm, buttery cake is especially wonderful right out of the oven!
- 2 sticks butter
- 1/2 cup Crisco
- 3 cups sugar 1 cup at a time
- 5 eggs add one at a time
- 3 cups cake flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp almond flavoring
Blend softened butter with Crisco until smooth with mixer.
Add sugar, one cup at a time.
Add eggs one at a time.
Mix cake flour and baking powder. Alternate adding the flour/powder with the milk.
Do not over beat after adding the flour and milk. Add flavorings.
Bake at 325 degrees 1 hour and 20 minutes.
